Ahead of the three special elections scheduled for later this summer in House Districts 3, 52, and 86, the Tennessee AFL-CIO Labor Council announces its endorsements of Lori Love (HD 3) and Representatives Justin Jones (HD 52) and Justin Pearson (HD 86). These endorsements were based off of recommendations from the organization's Central Labor Councils in Nashville, Memphis, and Upper East Tennessee.

"This past legislative session made it very clear that the supermajority is out-of-control and would rather focus on playing partisan games instead of addressing the very real and serious issues that working families face every day,” said TN AFL-CIO President Billy Dycus. "Even in the midst of their unjust expulsion proceedings in April, Representatives Jones and Pearson demonstrated that they are committed to speaking out for their constituents and doing the job that voters expect of them, regardless of the circumstances. We are also particularly excited to have Lori Love on the ballot in House District 3. As the Secretary-Treasurer of the Upper East Tennessee Central Labor Council and a proud union member, she would be a very strong voice for our movement, and we have no doubt that Lori's presence in Nashville would be impactful. We are committed to increasing the number of advocates for working families in elected office and are proud to endorse all three candidates."

Early voting for the Special Primary Election in House District 86 begins tomorrow (Friday, May 26th) and runs through June 10th. Special Primary Elections will be held on June 15th in House Districts 52 and 86 and June 22nd in House District 3. The Special General Election in all three districts is scheduled for August 3rd.
